Beautiful and durable. They will last the rest of my life, no doubt. The reason I can only give four stars is because I received my boots with one of the heel tack nails was sitting nearly flush with the heel of the boot. A punch clearly glanced off the nail bending it over. Mistakes happen but this also made it past QA.
There were wildfires in Spokane at the time so I understand there nay have been rushed operations.
When I contacted Nick’s they were very helpful, offering to take my boots back and fix the issue free of charge. However, I was going to need to mail them back, and wait an additional 1-2 weeks for the fix, before being sent back. It wasn’t a huge issue, so I opted to keep the boots and fix the issue myself.
Overall, great boots and great customer service just an unfortunate blemish that made it past QA.
Very pleased with the quality on these. I had some issues with fit because of my high arch, but already they’re already molding to my feet and break-in isn’t as bad as I feared. Great stuff!
It’s my favorite Nicks style. I have 2 pair and looking at adding a 3rd.
Made the jump from Red Wing and I am very very impressed with the level of quality workmanship. These boots are simply outstanding! The quality of leather / materials, craftsmanship and stitching are the best I've seen. Highly recommend the Americana, these are very much worth the wait!
Great boots
Awesome
Best boots on the planet. Nothing more needs to be said.
I love the shrunken bison from Law Tanning—exquisite! Boots fit awesome—8D in HNW last is perfect for my 8.5D Brannock feet with midweight socks. Good toe room and love the slightly more narrow heel. These will likely be my most worn boots out of more than a dozen pairs (Whites, Alden, Viberg, Trickers, John Lofgren). The bison leather combined with the last fits my feet sets them apart.
This is my first pair of real boots. I cannot help but be impressed with the leather and construction quality. The only downside is convincing my significant other that I need another pair.
Always impressed with Nick's Craftsmanship. They fit well & look even better. Only wish is they would use the Vibrim430 heel and not the Dainite.
With proper measurements, these boots will never want to leave your feet. Once I stepped into my Black waxed flesh Americanas, they immediately turned into my daily drivers. While stiff in break in, there wasn’t a single hot spot and the leather fit perfectly after my 4th day of wearing them. I wear them daily. Thankfully, my work doesn’t require harsh footwear conditions. But, these bad mama jama’s will endure ANYTHING life throws your way! Guaranteed. 10/5 ⭐️’s. 🫶🏻
These boots are incredible! I ordered my Americana in Predator Orange, the leather is supple and full of character. The craftsmanship is impeccable and workmanship is spot on! 100% worth the wait!!
I just crossed the bridge into one year of ownership of some of the best boots in the country. Probably any country aside from Viberg in Canada… they fit well. Break in seems easy at first ; but wait until your a couple weeks in and don’t have a fallback pair of footwear to do some heavy walking or skipping. My heel still bares the marks of the last half mile or so of nonstop skipping( it was a bet) . I like the way the leather smells like leather even after a year of my feet sweating in them and once my cat pissed on them. But its like they say the natural materials are more breathable and don't hold odors. If I could go back I would buy them all over again but would have waited for the sale or just picked up seconds since you beat up footwear anyway whether you spend $750 or $75. I love them thank you Nick and your employees.
Quality: These boots are beautiful. The leather is soft and smooth, no imperfections found. If you've never had boots like these, you'll notice how thick and sturdy they are, built like a tank. But also no weird tightness or pinching. Knowing they're handmade, I was looking for anything that would annoy me, like the heights being slightly off between the two, or the heel block not perfectly level or something (seen those on other brands). I had to look really hard, and be really nit-picky to find anything to point out, and the only thing I can come up with is the four lines of stitching on the toe caps might not be exactly the same spacing between the two boots. But I had to look really hard to find anything.
Fit: I've been on this boot journey for a few years, buying heritage style boots from a few different brands, and I could never seem to find exactly the right size. This is my first pair of Nick's. My understanding was the fit and sizing is probably pretty similar to the others I'd tried from another popular boot company out of Spokane, so I had that reference point. I also bought a Brannock device and compared that to the Nick's sizing instructions (was also able to get arch length which was critical for me). I think I've finally figured it out. My length to toe is just over 10. But my arch length is solidly 11, and also my width/circumference is on the narrow side. In the past, I'd gotten 9.5D or 10D based on what felt snug (and D was narrowest option), but it didn't feel right when walking, didn't bend in a natural place. I'd tried up to 10.5D which felt better when walking, except it was like swimming in clown shoes. So the solution was: half size down from the longer of toe/arch length (my 11 arch meant size 10.5), then using Nick's width guide and a measuring tape, I came up with C width (maybe B but I was afraid of leaping that far). With the 10.5C, I finally understand what people are talking about when they say it should be snug but comfortable. It hugs all around, my heel is locked, foot doesn't slip around, and when I walk, it bends in a natural place. It's only been a few days, and I can tell I'll be happy.
Price and Value: Considering the quality and life expectancy of these boots, they're really not that expensive at all. Just find the right size for you, including arch length and foot width/circumference.
This is my first pair of Nicks boots after watch over 50 videos about nicks hand made boots. I went from don't know anything about Nicks and now I own 4 within 3 months. I love how it fit and it is very easy to break in too. The quality is just amazing, the craftsmanship is the best, and you can feel it as soon as you open the box. it is look beautiful and when I wear them to go to work or out, people recognize and make comment right away. I have no problem wear them for 8 hours the very first day and I can't wait to have them fully broken in.
Recently received my Americana in CXL Brow. My size is 8D was dead on and I’m glad that I didn’t go down in size. I took a chance to order my Nick’s boots same size as all my other boots like, Iron Ranger, Frye Logger, and Drew’s boots. This is my first pair of Nicks, and they look and fit amazing. There is no comparison. These boots feel rock solid and require not breaking in. Got is yesterday and wear it for 6 hours no problem at all. The quality and craftmanship is remarkable. I have been watching the video of how these boots are made, and the people that work at nicks make me want to come to do a tour at the factory and personally thanks them all for their hard work.
Jumped on a set of ready to ship Americana in Olive and I couldn't be happier. They were on sale and arrived from across the country in a few days. As expected they started out little stiff, but are breaking in nicely.
I was skeptical when DIY sizing guide said I measure a 9E because all my other boots are 8.5D, but they fit perfectly.
Recently received my Americanas in Predator Orange. They look amazing. This is the boot the Iron Ranger is trying to be, but there is no comparison. The fit is dead on. I ordered a half size down as recommended. These boots feel rock solid and will definitely take some time to break in. Can't wait to see how this Predator Orange ages.
I just picked my order yesterday, and being my first pair of Nicks I can tell that all the hype and all the claims about this boot are true. The quality is just amazing, and you can feel it as soon as you open the box. It is also true that they are stiff at the beginning, but I can't wait to have them fully broken in!
In short, you will be glad you got a pair.
