Sizing
- Length: Our boots are longer than mass-produced footwear. With that in mind, we recommend going down a 1/2 size from your Brannock length. Example: If you normally wear size 12D, we recommend a size 11.5D for your Nicks.
- Width: In addition to length, consider the width of your feet when selecting boots, as most brands' boots are built with the standard D width. This measurement is typically more precise with a tailors tape rather than a Brannock device. Nicks offers a wide range to help fit your feet, with A-FF widths available in many of our lasts.

If you are still uncertain about what sizing will work for you, we offer our Buy With Confidence program! You have one size exchange guaranteed with every made to order boot.

Excellent craftsmanship, the crepe sole makes it very comfortable out of the box.
I love the feel and comfort of the new boots and I’m so happy I will be ordering another pair I smooth light brown all over
Love my boots from Nick’s! Break in took a good two to three weeks, but that’s to be expected with such a sturdily made boot.
Couldn’t be happier with my purchase, and their sizing recommendation was spot on.
1964 Brown. no nonsense old school boot leather. Made for men that wear their work boots for all occasions and consider their boots their best pair of shoes. My home was in danger of a wildland fire last week. My wife and I received an evacuation notice to evacuate at once. What did I load into my truck? guns, rifle, shot gun, Benchmade pocketknives and the three pairs of Nicks boots I have. I had one pair on, so I only had the load the other two which saved me time to help my wife with her stuff. Fortunately, we did not lose our home or the other crappy boots I still have.
Very little break in period. The boot is very comfortable. May run a little big but not a problem. I got used to it fast with thicker socks feet don’t sweat and they’re completely waterproof. Best boot on the market without a doubt, not cheap but worth the price. You just need to buy them once, weather shield is the way to go if you work in the rain and mud.
I like this leather because after use and wax it’s become darker almost brown and may be most resistance even more the black colour
Great rough out and super chill color - just looking at the break in as these are thick - and the Wellington is a hard one to put on out of the box with a super tight instep - little by little we will get them comfy as I know they will be - it is there.
The 1964 Mahogany is my favorite brown leather, especially a roughout/smooth combo.
I didn’t believe the hype at first, but these 1964 leathers are great. Break in isn’t bad, and the variety of colors is nice. This tan is a little darker than I expected, but overall I’m happy with it.
I sent my 8 years old hotshots in for a rebuild. I wanted lower all in bison hide , since I own already a pair of bison leather boots that i purchased in 2024 and i am quite pleased with them . It turned out significantly better than I anticipated. You can literally put them on , and go for whatever you do all day long, without having to endure any pain from new boots break in. Now i am contemplating of sending my 2020ish pair in for a rebuild in bison hide , even though they are nowhere near needing a rebuild. I am in the trades, and like all trades we spend tons of time on our feet. Nothing beats QUALITY comfortable boot.
The leather looks nice and is pretty sturdy. I'm sure it will agree well. So far so good for what I need the boots for.
Good quality
If you’re on the fence about it, the shrunken bison leathers are great. I’m very happy with the nightshade as I feel it’s a great blend of unique color but still subtle. Indoors it comes off almost like a navy and under more direct lighting is when the purple shade really comes through
The black max support is very stout but it is extremely stiff. Ive wore loggers most of my life and tried all the brands but this stuff is no joke and will humble you
The boots look very well made but the soles are very hard. I need to figure out a way to get a gel insert in them. I walk around 20000 steps a day and I need a softer footbed.
Love the look. The break in period was easier than expected. Very comfortable boot.
Awesome boots I bought a pair for work and home i can't wear them enough
Still trying to break in boots but they feel very well made so far. The issue I have is how long it took to get the boots- 6 plus months if you need boots for a job is just too long. Flip side, I don’t think I’ll need another pair for many years to come.
It’s too bad Nicks discontinued 1964 Monarch leather. It’s beautiful!!
Super
Perhaps the best leather I’ve seen on boots.
The 1964 Brown leather is, without question, one of the highlights of my boots.
The color is rich, warm, and incredibly versatile. It has a classic appearance that works equally well in demanding work environments and with casual everyday clothing. The leather has a beautiful depth and character that only gets better the more you look at it.
What impressed me most is how substantial it feels. It’s thick, supple, and inspires complete confidence without feeling lifeless. You can immediately tell you’re handling a premium work leather that was designed to endure years of hard use while developing an incredible patina.
The grain, texture, and finish are absolutely outstanding. Every panel matches beautifully, and the craftsmanship allows the leather to be the star of the boot.
If you’re undecided about which leather to choose, the 1964 Brown is an easy recommendation. It’s timeless, incredibly well made, and a perfect example of why Nick’s Boots has earned such an outstanding reputation.
Beautiful leather. Thick and color is lovely. Goes with anything.
The leather was very high-quality and much thicker than other boots I have owned in the past
Super nice pair of boots. This is my second pair of nicks boots. They were a little rough on fhe break-in but I spent my first full day in them earlier this week and they will only continue to get more comfortable. Excellent Product!
Leather looks and feels good. Came well oiled
