In the realm of footwear, finding the perfect fit often feels like solving a puzzle; with sizing varying between brands and their respective styles.

When it comes to Nicks Handmade Boots, understanding sizing becomes even more crucial. We have unisex sizing for everyone and run a half size down compared to popular mass-produced boot brands like Thorogood, Ariat, Redwing and others.

1. Length: Our boots are longer than mass-produced footwear. With that in mind, we recommend going down a 1/2 size from your Brannock length. Example: If you normally wear size 12D, we recommend a size 11.5D for your Nicks.
2. Width: In addition to length, consider the width of your feet when selecting boots, as most brands boots are built with the standard D width. This measurement is typically more presice with a tailors tape rather than a Brannock device. Nicks offers a wide range to help fit your feet, with A-FF widths available in many of our lasts.
3. Lasts: Nicks sizing is consistent across all of our lasts! There is no need to resize to try out a new last.
4. Pull-on boots: You may experience heel slip while wearing these boots: where the heel lifts slightly during walking.  This is an intentional function as you will need room to put on, and take off the boot!
