Heel Stacks

Boot heel heights play a significant role in both fashion and functionality, influencing the overall style, comfort, and versatility of the boot. From sleek classic dogger heels to sturdy moderate block heels, the range of options can be overwhelming. Here are the heel stack options we offer at Nicks:

Single Leather Stack

Exactly what it seems, just one leather stack followed by the heel cap. Only available on select models like the Maxwell. This is not a configurable option on Build Your Own models and is limited by size.

Moderate Stack

⅜” to ½” leather stack depending on boot size. Most commonly found in a block sanding profile.

Classic Stack

⅝” to ¾” leather stack depending on boot size. Commonly found on logger or dogger sanding profiles.

Packer Stack

¾” to 1 ⅛” leather stack depending on boot size. Only available on select western models in a packer sanding profile.

Heel Profile

Nicks boots offers a range of heel profiles including logger, dogger, block, and packer, primarily for aesthetic purposes rather than structural differences. While these heel profiles may vary in appearance, providing customers with options to match their personal style preferences, they generally do not affect the structural integrity or performance of the boots in significant ways. Instead, customers can select the heel profile that best complements their desired look, whether it be the rugged appeal of a logger heel or the sleek simplicity of a block heel. Despite the absence of major structural disparities, these variations offer individuals the opportunity to customize their boots to suit their individual tastes and fashion sensibilities.

Logger Profile

The classic logger heel style features a distinct rounded heel, providing stability and durability for rugged outdoor activities. The iconic design is characterized by a wide, rounded-off heel that offers traction and support in various terrains.

Dogger Profile

Dogger heels are characterized by a slight taper, offering a blend of elegance and practicality for both formal and casual wear. Said to originate from the Beatle boot worn by John Lennon, these heels add a touch of sophistication while providing comfort and stability.

Block Profile

Block heel profiles boast a wide, sturdy base that ensures stability and comfort for extended wear. The versatile design complements various outfits, making them a popular choice for both formal occasions and everyday work wear. The block heel profile can only be configured with the moderate heel stack.

Packer Profile

Originating from the needs of horse packers and ranchers, these heels provide a practical yet stylish option for individuals seeking durability and comfort. The Packer heel shape is only available on select western boot models.

Lineman Profile

The lineman heel is a mix between the block and dogger profiles. These have a very slight taper on the heel stack and are set back to allow gaffs and climbing spikes to be added to the boots.
